I would like to wish 'PEACE' !

If there is only one chance you can tell your wish, what would you wish for this world? Would you like to wish fortune, fame, or the technology for long life? For me, I would like 

                                                           to wish ‘peace’!!! 

 

The whole world is being settled as a world-comprised organization, so- called ‘global village’.

Because of the globalization, all the events and competitions between countries such as Olympic, trade... take place more frequently. Therefore, socializing between people from different countries became natural these days. This is such a pleasant phenomenon. For the people in this world make the society of cooperation beyond their races, and nationalities.

However, we can also find many problems. There are many people suffer from famines, starving, and wars. The war of Cream and the territory dispute in Palestine are well-known cases. We can easily find them in media. We, Koreans, seem that we live in peace, we still have the possibility of breaking war between South and North. Even at this moment there are many peoples who are afraid of unpredictable wars come with all the pain and damages.

In that sense, I realized that our common daily lives would be special for someone who always lives in hazards of wars. I consider that everyone on this earth must have their rights to lead a happy life as other people have. Therefore, to accomplish peace is the most basic need for human being amongst all the matters. Many people who work for peace are just around us. Today, I would like to introduce a man who is Korean works for world peace.

Among those who work for peace, Mr. Manhee Lee is the one I’d like to tell you. He is a peace advocate who takes an active part in international area for world peace. He has given many speeches every time he visits other countries like Europe, Southeast Asia and so on. He especially gives a speech on the importance of accomplishing peace.

Two of his representative activities are visiting Ethiopia to comfort the Korean War veteran, and the peace walking movements to aim at youth people in the world. He enthusiastically keeps contacting with the leaders from various organizations and tries to actualize the methods to fulfill the world peace. He takes signatures from leaders for agreement of world peace.

There is a lot of organizations aim for world peace. However, we still have no answer how we can actually drag the result out of it.

In Korea also, Mr. Manhee Lee and the others work for peace. It simply isn’t seemed that big what they are doing. They are those who don’t pursue their own happiness but work for spreading the idea of the importance and the value of peace. I hope this earth would be filled with joys and pleasure with peace by many people participate peace movements. Therefore, our ‘global village’ would become ‘peace global village’ soon. 

WHO (the World Health Organization), peaceful organization promoting for international cooperation and everyone's health.

WHO is established by every country because of the effect that people's health can be the basic power of world peace and safety.
Not only this WHO but the organization of World Confederation express that all the world should help each other for peace.
At the same time, there is an 'Alliance for peace movement'.
In Alliance for peace movement, usually develops new form of peace model or plan to vatiety of things for unity of public, researching problem for unification.
Besides  each country has their own cultures and through them, they have the time for praying peace and unification.
Like above, lots of organizations and their efforts did such things , but why the world is still not peaceful...?
There are many people who won the Nobel prize for peace , but why the peace didn't come to our world? we have to figure it out... seriously!

Everyone wants peace but not that many people didn't work for peace in reality.
I am a person who wants peace but
I felt ashamed that I have never acted for real peace..
However, I learned that there is one person who spread peaceful message for everyone and he works without sparing himself.
Even though He is in his eighty's, he criss-crosses the entire world only for world peace with practical movement.
Peace advocate Man Hee Lee makes Peace Forum, conversation with the president of every country with his two feet.
We should emulate his effort and spirit, not with only speaking. we have to do something for peace and wish its coming very soon.

A Miracle Happened in Mindanao

Maybe almost everyone in the world wishes for peace and justice including me.
And anyone can say that we should bring peace. Just saying is so easy.
But it’s never easy to sacrifice his/her all life for peace.
In history, many people tried so hard to make this world peaceful without wars.
Unfortunately, Some wars are still happening out there, and you can’t even imagine how many people died and hurt because of wars. More importantly, they are caused by just greed of an individual and an organization! How is that possible for human? Very disappointing!
Somehow I come to believe there’s no peace in the world so maybe I give up.
But I heard very AMAZING news! which changed my mind.

Do you guys know Mindanao in Philippines?
It’s the second largest island of the country and weary from 46 years of a conflict that has killed tens of thousands. A few obstacles still remain. Hostilities have not yet ceased.
SURPRISINGLY, A MIRACLE HAPPENED THERE!
On January 24, a new era of peace has started in the Mindanao Island, a region stricken by a long history of religious conflict between Catholics and Muslims.

Man Hee Lee marks Lee’s third visit to the Philippines from South Korea at the request of Mandanao religious leaders.

The representatives of Catholicism and Islam united to sign the peace agreement for ending the war and achieving World Peace and pledged to work together with Chairman Man Hee Lee of peace advocate. After signing the agreement, Capalla and Esmael vowed before God, the people of the world, and the approximately 150 participants that Catholics and Muslims will never have disputes again.
After hearing this news, I am so happy because it feels like this peace agreement is just a beginning for peaceful world. From now on, more peaceful happy news will come I hope.
So proud and thankful for him.

Peace Maker Thich Nhat Hanh Vietnamese Zen Buddhist Monk

Do you know Thich Nhat Hanh?

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, teacher, author, poet and peace maker. He lives in the Plum Village Monastery in the Dordogne region in the South of France,travelling internationally to give retreats and talks. He coined the term Engaged Buddhism in his book Vietnam: Lotus in a Sea of Fire. A long-term exile, he was given permission to make his first return trip to Vietnam in 2005.

Nhat Hanh has published more than 100 books, including more than 40 in English. He is active in the peace movement, promoting non-violent solutions to conflict and he is also refraining from animal product consumption as means of non-violence towards non-human animals.

I want peace and so say all of us.  However, the war was endless. Now it must finish this wars. I wish that many young men work for world peace like him.
I wish the glove is not the absence of war quickly, and I hope that there will be peace all over the glove.
