Man Hee Lee peace advocate_brave and his leadership

Peace is good. If we listen to Beatle’s music, we become warm hearted and begin to think about peace. By the way, what is peace? My father was a soldier during the Korean War. He frequently drank alcohol and sadly often wept. It made me sad to see by father in this state. I was not a victim of the war but the destructive and deteriorating panorama of the War has been replayed on the television during special occasions such as Veteran's Day or Memorial Day. Wars remind us of death. Since childhood, not only me, but most Koreans grew up in this kind of atmosphere.

But surprisingly, an international peace advocate has appeared in Korea. I have been following his activities.  He is brave and his leadership is very excellent. In him there is wisdom springing out. His name is Mr. Man Hee Lee.
Mr. Man Hee Lee visited several hospitals and spent some time with the patients. Interaction between Mr. Man Hee Lee and the patients went beyond nation, race and religion.
And then he visited the prime minister’s hometown. The people held a festival which was held exclusively for the prime minister. For 2 weeks, they had practiced and prepared for this festival. All the people were delighted and danced together. It reminded me of a bird which is included in their national flag.
Many peace advocates argued and acted in the past. Some were even imprisoned. But they could not carry it out completely.
Mr. Man Hee Lee is over 80years old but has made tour around the earth 8 times. Isn’t it surprising?
Surely there is something special in him that has the ability to move the people's hearts.

The cruel Korea Peninsula....Hope for a peace

The cruel Korea Peninsula....
Hope for a peace

Nowadays, the Korean Peninsula has become a tight political situation.
A few days ago, The south korea president, Park Geun-hye visited at Dresden in Germany for the conference of security of nuclear.
She announced the declaration of Dresden and suggested the vision concerning for the unification of peace.

However, after that day, not passed many days, the will of the government seemed founder because of the continuous unforeseen accidents from North Korea. The worries for the experiment of the nuclear weapons, the determination of the revenge of Yeon-Pyeong island, Training for a surprising attack Northern Limit Line, etc. Now that all those threatening elements, the issue of the Korea Peninsula is reissued.

Korea Peninsula suffered from the Korean War and It was a international war which 25 countries were participated in.
This war was a too serious war that The administration, Truman even worried that it might be spreaded into the third international war. And. even now after 65 years, it still remain the state of the truce so there is always a potential threat that is very connected to the world peace.
However, this still remains as the state that in the political worlds , social studies, academia and citizens no one gives an exact answer. And it seems never ending.

However, in this difficult situation, there is a man who longs for the world peace and runs as a peace activist.
This man is just the representative named  Mr. MAN HEE LEE  Peace advocate and he joined the Korean war spent his  youth on the front line troops. He really hope there is no war anymore in any places.
That is why he has been announcing the preciousness of the peace and let all people know their each  mission for a peace by going around all the nations though he is 84 years old.

Also, he has been meeting eminent persons from various circles and carry the message that please take part in bringing the peace in all the nations for all people and do not just seek for your own profit anymore and a lot of eminent persons from various circles agreed.
The fulfillment of the world peace that no one fulfilled so far.

In the world , now so many want to learn the pure passion and
pay attention on him, Mr. MAN HEE LEE.

We hope in Korea Peninsula also fulfill the peace and unite finally.

Do we really take action for WORLD PEACE?

Many leaders in the world try to find a lasting solution to the problems that beset our planet but so far, peace on earth has continued to be thought as an impposible dream. Anyone can shout out the word 'World Peace' itself but no one seems to be able to keep struggling to achieve real peace on earth and implanting awareness into people's mind all over the world. To be honest it seems like a lonely path and such a long way to go!

Wars, murders, conflicts among nations, we think those perennial evens should be stopped. However do we really take action for that? I think people just sit there and live their life.

There are many movements, conferences and fraternities all over the world that promotes the idea of world peace but no one has yet came up with a solid answer to the question.

In this situation, however, when I came across the news about a Korean peace advocate Man Hee Lee, who is the age of 84, led to put an end the forty-year-arduous conflict of Mindanao island in the Philippines and had both religious leaders from the disputed area sign a peace agreement.
The article said that the number of deaths from the war in Mindanao island is almost 14 thousand for the past 40 years. It also said when the advocate came to the island, it was very explosive situation and anyone was not able to cease the tragic history even religious leaders or the U.N.
I've never heard about this man until I read the article  however he's actually been working for peace not only just in Korea but for many nations in the world for a long time. He placed a stone monument and wrote a message about unification of Korea on it. Also he held the National Liberation Day Celebrations inviting War veterans that is he was one of them. Not only that he's been visiting many countries to meet politicians, presidents and religious leaders to promote the spirit of world peace and finally to lead them sign peace agreement on never fighting one another. What a great man! I'd like to give him a big hand to his great and constant effort.
I think I was so indifferent to world peace and even the situation of the division of Korea into north and south. However this 84-year-old peace advocate Man Hee Lee never forgets the pain and sufferings through Korean War. I wish his great and noble effort for world peace will be fulfulled in this era so that we could pass the peaceful world down to future generation hopefully forever.

[For World Peace] Koreas hold family reunions amid tensions over military drills

By Kim Kwang-tae and Joint Press Corps

MOUNT KUMGANG, North Korea, Feb. 24 (Yonhap) -- Hundreds of South Koreans held tearful reunions Monday with their North Korean relatives they had not seen since the 1950-53 Korean War as Seoul began its joint annual military exercises with Washington.

A total of 357 South Koreans met with 88 elderly North Korean relatives on the second of three days of family reunions at Mount Kumgang, a scenic resort on the North's east coast.

The South and North Koreans exchanged gifts with each other during their private reunions in their hotel rooms, though the session was delayed for about 20 minutes as North Korea had to manually operate the elevators due to a power shortage.

The North has been using emergency generators to power its hotel for days, a sign of energy shortages in a country under international sanctions for its nuclear and missile tests.

Jeon Kyung-sook, an 81-year-old from Seoul, said her elder brother from North Korea scolded her and her sister during the private session for bringing him clothes as a gift from the South.

Jeon shed tears as she recounted her reunion with her brother, who ended up in North Korea following the end of the Korean War.

Both Jeon and her sister burst into tears as they tightly held his withered hands and buried their faces in his chest later at their joint lunch session.

The reunions are the second set in a week. On Saturday, 80 elderly South Koreans, accompanied by 56 family members, returned home from the mountain resort after a first round of three-day reunions with their North Korean relatives.

The reunions -- which will end on Tuesday -- are a key part of a recent inter-Korean deal meant to improve bilateral relations that worsened last year due to the North's third nuclear test and its threats of war against Seoul and Washington.

The latest reunions, the first since late 2010, came as Seoul and Washington launched their annual joint military exercises, which have been denounced by the North as a rehearsal for invasion.

The North had demanded that Seoul postpone the military exercises until after the reunions, but it later backed down, a rare concession that indicates that Pyongyang may be serious about mending fences with Seoul.

At the North's resort, North Korean officials complained to their South Korean counterparts about the military exercises, though they held out the prospect of improved relations.

The rival Koreas have said the family reunions can serve as a first step toward improving cross-border relations.

"Can we suddenly meet and kiss after a row of more than three years?" a North Korean official asked to South Korean pool reporters, referring to years of tensions between the two Koreas.

He said the two Koreas need to hold each other's hands as they seek to improve their relations.

The separated family members were meeting en masse at a banquet hall after holding private reunions and joint lunch at their hotels.

The South Koreans plan to return home on Tuesday after a series of reunion meetings with their long-lost relatives from North Korea for the first time in six decades.

There is no hope that they will meet again each other during their lifetime because the Korean War ended in a cease-fire rather than a peace treaty, leaving the two Koreas technically in a state of war.

The division keeps ordinary citizens from the rival Koreas from meeting, making phone calls or sending letters or emails to each other, though some illegal channels exist.

In Seoul, South Korea proposed that the rival Koreas hold talks at a convenient time for the North to discuss Seoul's aid offer designed to help contain the first outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the communist country in about three years, a government official said Monday.

Last week, South Korea allowed two private aid groups in Seoul to ship 1.06 billion won (US$988,000) worth of tuberculosis medicine and powdered milk to North Korea.

When it comes to the family, It must be able to see whenever they want to see each other.
However there are some family who cannot see whenever they want to see each other due to the Korean War.
They're never known whether their family are alive or not. Also, they remained without going to hometown all their life.
Why are the family suffer from the war.
If the war is not over, it will repeat the suffering continuously.
We really work for world peace and try to live without war in the world.
Especially, Youths should shout of peace.
Now all the war is over, It should choose the path of peace.
